If hypovolemia is suspected, start IV per standing order and monitor vital signs every 5 minutes. ● Apply cold or ice packs to the area. ● Give nothing to eat or drink. ● Elevate the limb after splinting if there are no contraindications, such as sus- pected pelvic fractures, spinal injury, or skull fractures. ● If pelvic fracture is suspected, prevent movement and avoid log-rolling. ● Arrange immediate medical care with em- ployee’s personal health care provider or transport to hospital.
